A new ‘Health Hub’ has opened at Sunderland’s Beacon of Light, offering a range of free sessions designed to help the community improve their health and wellbeing.
Foundation of Light has launched a programme of drop-in sessions covering key areas of wellbeing, including healthy eating, lifestyle support, emotional wellbeing, stop smoking support, and alcohol awareness.
The free sessions will provide advice, guidance, and signposting to relevant support services.
The Health Hub is based at the rear of street level at the Beacon of Light, opposite the main entrance and reception. Here’s the full list of Health Hub Drop-In sessions:
Monday: Wellbeing and Support Drop-in
Small Consultation Room 1, 5-7pm
In partnership with Foundation of Light’s Game of II Halves project, this session offers a general wellbeing check-in, including emotional wellbeing, health advice, signposting to relevant services, and a listening ear.
Tuesday: Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Drop-in
Large Consultation Room, 5-7pm
Advice and guidance on maintaining a balanced diet, making healthier food choices, and incorporating exercise into daily life, with signposting to sessions tailored to individual needs.
Wednesday: Health Champion Drop-in
Small Consultation Room 1, 9am-12pm
Support and advice on leading a healthier lifestyle, including stop smoking services, alcohol interventions, and signposting to relevant support organisations.
Thursday: Health Champion Drop-in
Multiple Rooms, 5-7pm
Support and advice on leading a healthier lifestyle, including stop smoking services, alcohol interventions, and signposting to relevant support organisations.
