Shining a light on mental health
This week marks the annual Mental Health Awareness Week, a week dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being across the UK.
Like everyone else, staff from the Beacon are looking forward to the Sunderland City Runs events coming up on Sunday 12 May.
Our team will be attending the event village at the start and finish line at Keel Square with a stall and speed cage to provide some fun. Keel Square will also see a number of stalls, food and drink vendors, music and activities.
Sunderland City Runs is one of the north’s largest running events that races through the city and along the sea front, with two of its famous bridges providing a stunning backdrop to all three distances.
The race day will welcome 4000 participants to the city streets in a celebration of running across a range of distances, with many more expected to cheer them along from the events village.
Even if you aren’t a runner, the day promises a great atmosphere with lots of fun and activities.
The event will take place Sunday 12 May until around 2pm.
